J.I.D ft J.Cole “Off Deez”

Atlanta native and Dreamville signee J.I.D has been making tons of noise over the past few years that has landed him on the XXL Freshman list with an incredible standout freestyle. Off this new crop of MC’s J.I.D is clearly the most lyrically able and he shows off his skill again along side Cole on “Off Deez”. Production surprisingly comes from Chasethemoney the orchestrator behind street acts like Valee and Z Money.  It’s great to hear such high level bars over grimy, booming production like this. Take a listen below.

Da$H “Mindfuck” ft J.I.D

East Meets the South

LooseSkrew

Da$H just dropped his very highly anticipated Loose Skrew project and one of the hardest tracks on the project has to be the combination of DaSH and Dreamville signee J.I.D on “Mindfuck”. You know its 2017 rap when the rapper from Jersey and the rapper from Atlanta are on the same song spitting relentless lyrical heat over a druggy and droning yet still banging instrumental. Listen below.

Another one

JID3.jpg

Im officially addicted to J.I.D’s debut album The Never Story. This is the first project in a while to have multiple songs directly jump into my very wide rotation of music that I listen to on the daily. “Lauder” joins other hits like “8701”, “Hoodbooger” and “Never” that I cant stop bumping. Listen below.

J.I.D’s new album The Never Story is phenomenal and there a so many songs that have entered my rotation after just one listen through the project. One of those records has to be the 6lack assisted “8701”. This joint finds J.I.D stunting on his haters as 6lack croons “your best shit ain’t better than my worst shit” as the chorus. Listen below. And stay tuned for more J.I D standouts from The Never Story.

The South got somethin to say

Dreamville.jpg

J.I.D only signed to J.Cole’s Dreamville imprint last month but he is wasting no time taking advantage of the light that has been shined on him by dropping his debut project on the label The Never Story. The Atlanta spitter has bars for days as well as some R&B vibes and follows many of the guidelines set by traditional hip hop. The album has production from J.Cole and features from fellow ATLiens EARTHGANG, and 6lack. Stream the project below.

J,I,D.jpg

In my research through Dreamville’s new signee J.I.D’s music I found the visual for the record M.O.M that dropped a few days ago. This record is a smooth smoking cut featuring famed ghostwriter Quentin Miller. The video plays on the image of women as snakes and seductresses and the verses from J.I.D and Quentin describe using mind over matter to overcome temptation. Watch below.

Dreamville

Dreamville’s new signee out of Atlanta, J.I.D has got something special. The emcee out of Atlanta has just signed to J.Cole’s imprint and like his label mates Bas, Cozz, and Omen he gets busy on the mic as bars are clearly a focal point for J.I.D. Outside of lyrics his nasally, quirky flow and often speedy delivery let you know that he was raised in the contemporary south, and he has records that show he will not be confined into the box of a “backpack” rapper. Like Cole J.I.D’s content ranges from introspective to ignorance with a mix of hip hop and R&B influences. His upcoming project “The Never Story” boats features from 6lack, J.Cole, and EarthGang. Standouts for me from his previously released material are, “Never”, “Bruuuuh”, and the recently released “D/Vision”. Stay locked to ifudontkno.com for more updates on J.I.D and all the hottest shit.
